The conditions here in Manilla are very dry, with little grass left and lots of dust devils. There has obviously been little rain here for a long time and the river bed is virtually dry.
We had great conditions with thermals to 9,000 feet with white fluffy clouds and light winds. Twenty pilots made goal, with the fastest completing it in just over two and a half hours. Later in the day, the sky to the south of the second turnpoint was dark with large development, with lots of lift and many pilots coming in to goal very high. We had some heavy rain in the evening to the joy of the locals.
